Web Analytics Italy is a fundamental tool to understand How people use websites public services, such as that of our municipality. In practice, it collects information on:
Thanks to this information, we can understand if the site is easy to use and if there are aspects to improving to make access to online services even easier.
Basically, it's like a kind of Feedback that helps us to improve the experience of those who browse, making the site more and more functional and accessible.
Imagine entering a store: If you stop in front of a shop window, the shopkeeper may notice where you look the longest and which products interest you the most. In the same way, Web Analytics Italia ‘observes’ how people use the website, to understand what works well and what can be improved, so that the site becomes increasingly user-friendly and useful for citizens.
Thanks to this tool, we can improve the online services we offer and make it easier for everyone to find what they are looking for, directly from the Municipality’s website.
Web Analytics Italia helps to collect information on how citizens navigate the websites of the Public Administration, which pages they visit the most, and whether they easily find the information they need.
Imagine going to a public office and asking for help with a document. If many people ask for the same thing, the office may decide to make that information more visible and easy to find. Web Analytics Italy does something similar for websites: records user interactions (without collecting personal information), to understand how to improve the site and make it more useful.
In this way, Web Analytics Italia helps administrations to better understand what works on public websites and what can be improved, to offer simpler, faster and easier to use services to all citizens.
