Who can vote?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

In Italy you have the right to vote in the European elections if:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 has reached the age of 18;<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 you are an Italian or European Union citizen legally resident in Italy, or an Italian citizen residing abroad;<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 registered as a voter by the deadline (for EU citizens voting in Italy).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What documents should be brought to the polling station?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

In order to exercise the right to vote at the section electoral office on whose lists you are registered, you will have to show a valid identification document and the electoral card.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Where can I vote?<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n

National of Italy or of a Member State voting in Italy\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 You vote at the polling station in which you are registered, indicated on the electoral card and corresponding to the section in which the place of residence is included.<\/span>
\nTo know your polling station, you must contact your municipality of residence.<\/span>
\nSpecial voting conditions are laid down for hospital residents, voters suffering from infirmities such as to make it impossible for them to leave their home, prisoners, non-ambulatory voters in sections other than their own if this is not accessible. Military, police, firefighters and sailors can vote in the municipality where they are due to service.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Italian citizen voting from another EU Member State\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2022 You must vote at the polling stations set up abroad by the Italian diplomatic and consular offices of the country in which you live.<\/span>
\nOnce registered, the Italian Ministry of the Interior sends an electoral certificate to its home. It shall contain information on the place of voting, the date and time of the vote. If you have not received your electoral certificate, you should contact your relevant consulate to verify your electoral status.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 Italians residing in another EU country who wish to vote in Italy as an alternative to voting abroad \u2013 may do so in the Italian municipality on whose electoral roll they are registered. To this end, it is necessary to communicate this intention to the Mayor of your municipality and present the electoral certificate received for voting abroad.<\/span><\/p>\n
